Using

Take care of your AirPods while you are using them as it can make a difference. Taking basic precautions like avoiding high temperatures and keeping your AirPod clean, have an impact on their lifespan. Remember that AirPods are not necessarily as robust and as durable as you think. Their longevity all depends on how you use them.

Avoid exposing them to humidity and liquids lest the sensitive electronics inside the AirPods become affected. Consider using foam tips that the devices fit well and comfortably in your ears with a minimum amount of pushing or squeezing. Ensure you check for dirt and damage regularly and give you AirPods a quick wipe down after an extended period of use. Replace the AirPod skins and AirPod wraps rather than using the damaged or worn out originals- or worse, using no protective wraps at all.

Cleaning

You might already know that water and cleaning agents do not go well with any form of electronics. To clean your AirPods using a soft cloth, warm water, and just a little soap.  Or, just one of the cleaning wipes that come free with your APSkins wraps. This will leave your AirPods sparkling clean. Be careful of the amount of water and soap you use. Ensure you check the instructions that came with your kit, in case you didn’t throw them away with the packaging.

Alternatively, remove the AirPod skins and AirPod wraps and give the AirPods a good cleaning. Wipe the surface beneath them with a lint-free rag. In the same vein, you can use cotton swabs or even toothpicks to clean particularly stubborn areas. Ensure you dub your devices with a towel later and allow them plenty of time to dry naturally. This is not a job you can do on your way to catch a bus.

Clean your ears

If your ears are prone to building up with earwax clean them! When earwax builds inside your ears, it can only get packed into the speaker openings of your AirPods. This has the effect of diminishing the quality of sound and also increase the risk of ear infection. Clean your ears regularly to prevent damage on your ears or on your AirPods.

Storing

Store your AirPods in a clean and dry place and make use of AirPod wraps. Avoid keeping your devices in extreme temperatures that could either be sweltering or freezing. Anything in between works well with any form of electronics. Handle your AirPods carefully to reduce wear and tear while using them.

Keep your AirPods in their charging case when not in use. It comes with a place to secure each piece in place. This protects the speakers and AirPod microphone control buttons from damage. The damage can be caused from accidental drops. Make it a habit of putting AirPods away after every use so they are freshly charged and you are less likely to lose one.
