So you’ve finally taken the plunge and plucked up the courage to sink a fair amount of money into some Apple AirPods. The first thing to do is to pair them with your phone so that you can start to use them with your phone!

Luckily, it’s the easiest thing in the world to do. Firstly, make sure that your Apple AirPods case and AirPods are fully charged to avoid running out of battery before you’re done using them. Then, make sure your iPhone is on the home screen and that your Bluetooth is turned on. To do this, swipe up from the bottom of the screen to access the control center and press the Bluetooth icon if it isn’t highlighted. Then all that’s left to do is hold the AirPods case very close to the phone a flick the lid open. It’ll send a little wave of Bluetooth out to devices close by and you’re an option will pop up on your iPhone to pair the devices. Bingo, now your AirPods are connected and you’re ready to go!

You can also connect your AirPods with pretty much any Bluetooth enabled device, but you’ll have to go through the normal Bluetooth pairing process for anything that isn’t an Apple product. Still, that’s pretty useful!

Of course, when you first get your Apple AirPods they are plain white and look like every other pair of AirPods and EarPods out there. Don’t you want to personalize them and make them your own? If you do, then you need to look into getting some AirPods wraps. The wraps come in all sorts of designs and colors to make your AirPods truly unique, and protect them for any scrapes or dust that they find if you ever happen to drop them. The standard design is pretty boring, so getting wraps for your AirPods should be high on the first things to do when you get them.

AirPods are obviously earphones so that you can listen to your favorite songs, but they’re also smart to improve upon the experience of your old earphones. If you’re listening to something and someone tries to speak to you from the outside world, you can take them out to listen and the AirPods will recognize that they’re out of your ears and pause the audio playback for you!

Now, I’m sure you’ve bought AirPods to listen to your music, but they can do much more than that. They also include microphones, so that you can answer calls on the go. The microphones monitor the background noise to ensure that they prioritize your voice and do not disrupt the call, as often happens on low end products. The microphones also enable you to operate Siri, so the virtual assistant is now at hand at all times to answer and queries. This might be more useful for professionals who don’t want to be seen getting their phone at whilst at their desks, but still wish to benefit from Siri’s wisdom.

Enjoy your new AirPods!
